Susanna, known to friends as “DC” on the trail, has 5,000+ miles of hiking and backpacking experience including thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, the Tahoe Rim Trail, the Arizona Trail, and the John Muir Trail. She lives in Sacramento, CA, and spends as much time as possible each summer hiking and backpacking in the splendors of the nearby Desolation Wilderness. Whether backpacking solo or with friends, Susanna’s hiking style is focused on going at her own pace and finding joy in movement; sometimes that looks like grinding out 20-30 mile days on trail and sometimes that means hiking fewer than 10 miles and prioritizing swimming in as many alpine lakes as possible...and always after savoring a high-quality cup of coffee in the morning.
